I consider myself most fortunate to be able to live my life as an artist. This was my dream as a young child. I’ve never expected anything, such as awards or recognition, yet have always appreciated each and every pat on the back for a job well done.
As an artist, I’ve always felt a responsibility to share. Through exhibiting my work as well as teaching, I’m able to share lessons I have learned with others who are eager to experience the creative challenge.
My college training was based on formal realism. Through the years, I have challenged myself to go beyond painting what I see by trying to capture what I feel. As an artist, I’m always exploring by trying to set free my inner vision through paint on paper. I hope my work interprets my response to nature and how alive it makes me feel. Over the past five years , I have incorporated the human figure into my landscapes in an attempt to express the natural rhythm of man and nature.
My goal is to create work that speaks from my heart, my inner voice and vision. Hopefully, that work will touch others as well.
