Giclée Prints

I have produced Giclée prints from several of my most favorite paintings. I am extremely pleased with the quality of these prints and I am happy to be able to offer you these prints to add to your collection.

Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a digital method of fine art printing that was originally developed in 1989. The word Giclée is French for “spray of ink”. The image that is to be printed is scanned and digitally stored in a computer then sent to a high resolution inkjet printer.

Giclee Closeup - Lady of the Lake

Giclée is recognized as a category of fine art print such as lithographs or serigraphs. Giclée is considered to be the premier method of reproducing original art. Color is much richer and truer to the original than in other types of reproduction. A Giclée features a continuous tone color instead of a screen pattern of dots. It is often difficult to distinguish between the Giclée and the original piece of art. Real artist’s material, such as watercolor paper and canvas are used to print on.

Unlike other printing methods, each image is sent to the printer individually. Because of this, Giclées are often offered in smaller editions than lithographs. Although inks and paper used should offer a high degree of permanence, Giclée should be treated as fine art and be protected from moisture and harsh sunlight.

I have produced another giclee print that I'm real excited about. The title is “Yellow Lotus”. It was printed at a wonderful printer, Acorn Studio, in Florida. They matched the original painting exactly and I'm very pleased with the quality of the watercolor paper it is printed on.

Four Color Process Prints

These prints are printed in larger quantity because they are produced on a huge 4 color press. The original art work is color separated and films are made to produce plates that are loaded onto a 4 color press. Once on press, the artists can adjust the color to get as accurate a possible. These prints have been very popular over the last several years. The cost is a bit less than the Giclées because of the process and quantity that is printed.

“Paine Arboretum”

size 19”x 12 1/2” $55.00 plus tax

“Windswept II”

size 11”x 17” $45.00 plus tax

Note Cards

I have recently chosen 5 illustrations done in my sketchbook for these black and white cards. One is a trumpet moon flower that was at the entrance of Renoir's home in the south of France. The second is a sketch of a chateau in the Burgundy Region on France. The third depicts a fishing boat along the Mediterranean. The fourth illustrates gondolas along the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. And the last card is a scene outside Rockland, Maine.

Two of each card is accompanied by a silver foil lined envelope and held
together with a sheer decorative silver ribbon.
10 cards and envelopes: $12.99

Each package contains 10 note cards with 10 envelopes. The cards are 5”x7” and there are 6 different images in each package. $12.99 per package - plus shipping.

Brushes

The Dynasty Brush Company, of New York, invited me to produce brushes with my name on. I have put together a package of 5 brushes in a nice clear plastic carrying case that snaps shut. It consists of a 2” wash brush made with white synthetic fibers and has a wonderful snap to it. The 1” Flat Brush is from the Black Gold series as well as the #6 & #8 round brushes. The #6 fan brush is made from tough bristles and creates great grasses and various textures. I chose this grouping because it is the basic brush needs for the watercolor painter.

I'm very impressed with these brushes and feel you will get plenty of use from them.
