Since the mid-1990’s, Dave and I have enjoyed traveling with groups around the world. We will be leaving on our 24th International tour this September to Budapest, Vienna, Salsburg, Munich and Prague. Since I am an artist, many people think that our group trips are for artists only. This is not the case. We do take artists but non-artists are welcome as well. Our trip do not include painting on location unless otherwise listed as such. From time to time, I do present a painting workshop abroad but even then, we still tour the countryside and experience the local culture.
Our trips always have an ART slant with museums, architecture, palaces, historic churches and cathedrals on the agenda. Visits to artists studio’s such as Renoir, Monet, Cezanne and Diego Rivera are just a few we have experienced. We also include visits local artisans such as a famous Icon painter in Athens, Greece, an angora goat farm in Italy, silver smiths, potters and weavers in Mexico, tile manufacturers in Portugal, glass blowers in Venice just to mention a few!
We also like to include regional agricultural such as walnut groves and Truffle farms in France, winery and olive grove tours throughout Europe. Tasting the organic chocolate at an ancient chocolate plantation was a highlight!
We even include zip lines in Costa Rica, snorkeling and kayaking in the Bahama’s, horseback riding in Mexico and climbing to the domes of the Vatican in Rome, the Duomo in Florence, the bell tower of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
All in all, our tours are custom designed to maximize your travel experience. If you would like to receive the first notices of each tour, please send Joye and email to get in the “First Call List”
Over the past few years, I have been contributing blog entries for the ‘Women’ magazine of Northeast Wisconsin but am now happy to maintain this blog from my website.
I have been working with Kevin and Nick from Walzak Marketing Communications in Milwaukee, WI to develop my new website. I met Kevin and Nick while they were presenting a program regarding website building for the members of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society. So, via emails and phone calls we started the process of redesigning and coordinating my website.
The main purpose for the re-do of the site was to make it possible for me to maintain it on my own. It has been quite a challenge learning how to create new listings, add paintings and pages but I will have the ability to add new events, such as exhibits, workshops and trips, much quicker than in the past.
So, check back from time to time to see what’s new and feel free to chime in on the conversation.

From there, we will travel to Windsor, Connecticut for a five day workshop at The Country Artist. We have never been to this area and we are excited to learn more about it.

ITALY GROUPS, Spring, 2011
The TWO groups traveling to Italy in the Spring could not have been more delightful! The first group, 39 people in all, began in Rome for 4 days, exploring all that Rome has to offer. We then traveled south the Sorrento where we explored the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, the Isle of Capri and Naples. Travelers from Florida, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, West Virginia and Wisconsin enjoyed this great cultural experience. This group was a touring group with the second group being more of a painting group. The second group, 22 people, got whisked away to Tuscany to spend an entire week at the Renaissance Center just outside Siena. We painted from our beautiful location at El Chiristro as well as spent a day at a wonderful winery/hotel painting the breathtaking landscape. We took day trips to Siena, San Gimignano and Florence to explore these ancient cities. The group continued on to Rome for 3 days of fun, food and exploration! What a great experience Dave and I had with both of these great groups! We are looking forward to the Italy Reunion Party at our home in Wisconsin in July. We enjoy getting as many of the travelers together one last time to relive our wonderful experience as well as share photos and eat some great Italian food together.

Last night I presented a watercolor demonstration for the Wickenburg Art Club at Wickenburg, AZ. The turn out was amazing with 70 plus people attending. This is a very active club with many opportunities to display art work, take workshops and enhance art in the community through outreach programs for kids and adults. I will be presenting a three day workshop starting on January 12th. I was happy to see that the workshop is filled with eager students ready to experience some new methods and techniques in watercolor.
