November 9, Closing Reception and Book Signing

Exploring texture in Watercolor. A hands-on approach.

Steinhilber Gallery, at UW- Oshkosh on the third floor of the Reeve Memorial Union at 748 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, WI.

2008 Internet Exhibit is only a small sampling of the exhibit that will be held at the Steinhilber Gallery at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.
This internet exhibit and the gallery exhibit is a collecting of paintings produced for my book, “Exploring Textures in Watercolor”. The closing reception on November 9, from 1:00 to 5:00 at UW-Oshkosh will be the first of many scheduled book signings that have been arranged throughout the United States. If you live near Oshkosh, I hope to see you at the exhibit at the Steinhilber Gallery at UW-Oshkosh.

Award of Merit, Alive in the Arts, the 13th Annual Joan Kohn

I was honored to have Nell Emerson Jarosh, from Edgewood Orchard Galleries award me the Award of Merit on "Waiting for Summer" This winter painting was done on location at Lake Geneva, WI on a mild December day.

The Richeson 75 International Portrait ExhibitSun Dappled Rachel

The painting "Sun Dappled" is of my daughter, Rachel. It won First Place in Watercolor and it was an honor to have Everett Kinstler give me this award. This same painting was also accepted into the 13th National Watermedia Competition sponsored by the Rhode Island Watercolor Society in 2006.

The painting, "Karen", won the Award of Excellence, theBill GatesMemorial Award at the Nicaragua Frontier watercolor Societies National Exhibit in 2006.

My painting "Joye in the Morning" was accepted by Stephen Doherty into this juried National competition. 852 entries were sent with 114 pieces accepted. I was very fortunate to get in.

Louisiana Watercolor Society 36th Annual International Exhibition

Place St. Charles, New Orleans, Louisiana

My painting "Rachel with Candle II" was accepted by John Salminen into this juried International competition. There were over 500 entries with only 82 pieces accepted. Nice to see New Orleans is recovering and still focused on the arts.

2006 Ouray Cultural Days

I have been invited to be the 2006 Featured Artist at the Ouray Cultural Days in Ouray, CO. I will have a brief One Woman Exhibit at one of the premiere galleries in Ouray as well as conduct a 2 day watercolor workshop for the Art Association.

The Richeson School of Art and Gallery

This is an amazing space with incredible art work from the private collection of Jack Richeson. It is located at 557 Marcella St., just east of Appleton, in Kimberly, WI. In addition, there are national and regional artists represented. The Art School offers a wonderful state of the art studio space. Since I am the Chairman of Exhibitions for the Wisconsin Watercolor Society, I have coordinated the WWS Spring Members Exhibit with the Richeson Gallery. The dates for the show are April 10-May 18, 2006. Opening Reception, April 23, 1:00-3:00

In Appleton, there is Coventry Glass at 517 W. College Ave. Linda Muldoon is the owner and has a wide variety of area artists. Linda is a wonderful glass artist herself and offers glass, pottery and jewelry as well as two dimensional work that is very unique and will captivate any artistic interest. The gallery is located just west of the new Fox Valley Performing Art Center.
